Look for our Christmas 2010 show on The 25 Most Inspirational Films of all time!
Listen in while TMG and Joy Lynn rant about people talking in movie theatres! TMG dismisses The Warriors Way, but has sympathy for star Dong-gun—a bad birthmark might not have been as bad as that name! TMG toasts the 2008 DVD, Bottle Shock (2008) with Bill Pullman and Chris Pine. A great but funky little film about father and son and the triumph of California wines over the French. However, with the state California is in, next time we may well cheer for the French. TMG wonders why wine snobs so much like golf snobs. Ever notice that golf resorts and wine chateaus often look so much alike? We then address The Harry Potter “thing.” Joy Lynn and TMG both go see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1. We will not see Part II. Fortunately we had 18 year old Brett in studio to explain this weird but immensely popular franchise for us. We still are confused why everyone wants to kill Harry Potter but convinced those that read all the books, remain steadfast fans of the films. It’s a genre TMG calls a “club film.” One installment cannot be seen by an outsider and enjoyed like Batman or Star Wars. Walking into a Harry Potter film for the first time is a bit like walking into a honky tonk bar in a small town—you don’t know the characters and feel awkward about hanging around. We salute Calistoga, California in honor of our star of the week, Bill Pullman and the movie Bottle Shock—listen why. We pay full tribute to Leslie Nielsen (and to TMG’s dog Abby), movie trivia and more.
