TMG Scale 8.5     MPAA Rating: R
Starring Brendan Gleason, Don Cheadle

Funny. Irreverent. Brash. Offbeat for sure. This film is pure treasure from relatively unknown Director/Writer John Michael McDonagh. Now that TMG is on sabbatical from the grind of six to seven movies a week, I am going back and watching screen gems I missed and film I really want to see. It is invigorating. So is this film.

It would be misleading, if not unfair,  to describe this film simply as small town cop (Gleason)  meets up with big city FBI agent (Cheadle). Gleason plays offbeat Irish policeman Gerry Boyle. Boyle has a penchant for drinking, hookers and sort of cutting to the chase with his words. Is he really smart or really dumb?—it is the question Cheadle tries to figure out as the tight laced FBI agent Wendell Everett sent to work with him to bust up an international drug ring.

More when I feel like writing more 🙂 Try it though. If you have a fun, offbeat sense of humor—you’ll love it!
